The S Line and Black Edition trims are also available in the top spec 35 TFSI (a turbocharged 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine), offering the quickest acceleration and unbridled raw power. The 25 TFSI and 30 TFSI engines are available with a five-speed or six-speed manual gearbox, or a seven-speed S tronic automatic transmission. The 35 TFSI engine is only available as a dual-clutch automatic (S tronic).
The entry-level A1 Sportback Sport offers an impressive 116 BHP and will take you from 0 to 62 mph in 9.8 seconds – not slow by any means (30 TFSI engine). If you’re looking for a more performance-inspired exterior and interior, the S Line trim level is a worthwhile upgrade.
The S Line features exclusive S Line badging, a rear diffuser and a three-spoke multifunction plus steering wheel, giving the whole car a much sportier look. 17″ S Line alloy wheels and a firmer, lowered sport suspension for sharper handling are also included as standard. Available with the option of the larger 35 TSI engine, the S Line offers 150 BHP and will get you to 62 mph in just 8.1 seconds… The perfect choice if you want to add a more assertive edge to your everyday drive.
However, the top-of-the-range Audi A1 Black Edition is the only choice if you really want to turn heads. With 18″ 7-spoke gloss anthracite black, diamond cut alloy wheels and enhanced Black Styling pack, including black grille, mirror housings and side skirts, the Black Edition is the ultimate expression of style in the A1 range.
